Adult Autism Assessment

Many adults reach a point where they start to ask whether autism might explain patterns they've noticed throughout their life: in relationships, work, sensory experience, or the way they process the world.

A formal assessment can offer clarity, whether or not it leads to a diagnosis.

I offer comprehensive autism assessments for adults, drawing on clinical interview, developmental history, standardised measures, and, where clinically indicated, the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2), a widely recognised, standardised assessment tool.

What the assessment involves

  • An initial clinical interview to understand your history and current concerns
  • Gathering developmental history, where available and relevant
  • Standardised measures relevant to autism presentation in adults, including the ADOS-2 where clinically indicated
  • Collateral information from family or others who know you well, where appropriate and with your consent
  • A comprehensive written report outlining findings and, where applicable, diagnostic conclusions

Who this is for

Adults who:

  • Have wondered whether autism explains long-standing patterns in how they think, relate, or experience the world
  • Want a formal, evidence-based process to better understand themselves
  • Have been referred by a GP, psychologist, or other health professional
  • Are seeking documentation for personal understanding, workplace adjustments, or another specific purpose

Currently offered for adults only. Assessments for adolescents are not yet available; get in touch if you'd like to be notified when this changes.
